ABOUT US

Amore' Transitional Group, Inc. is a Registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization headquartered in Decatur, Georgia.  ATG provides programs that are specifically designed for current and former female foster youth, ages 18-21 who are living in the Dallas / Fort Worth & Metro Atlanta areas.

Approximately 241,254 children exited foster care in the United States in the FY 2012.  (48%) of these children were female.  While some foster care children are fortunate enough to exit foster care due to reunification with parents or care takers (51%), or adoption (21%), there are still a number of children, approximately 25,000 who are emancipated from foster care due to age, or who simply run away. Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS Report July 2013)

At the time of emancipation, many youth have a host of barriers that prevent them from transitioning into adulthood successfully including learning disabilities, health, emotional, and behavioral difficulties (Foster, et.al, 2004).  As a result, it has become imperative that community based organizations serving foster care youth take into account these various issues as early as possible.

"Amore Transitional Group, Inc. is on a mission to provide educational, housing, and supportive resources for young women emancipated from the foster care system in an effort to promote their transition to adult leaders who positively impact their community."
