Imagine leaving the hospital with your newborn and taking your baby “home” to a shelter. Or arriving to an emergency shelter with nothing more than a small bag of personal items and a baby on the way.

Our Fresh Start program helps women that are pregnant and live in a shelter look forward not only to the arrival of their baby, but also a special maternity care package just for them. Mothers receive a bassinet, which is a temporary crib for their newborn, filled with essential baby and postpartum care items giving their little bundle of joy a FRESH START and mom much needed personal care items to help in her recovery as she starts a new chapter in her life.

Each bassinet is tailored to meet the individual needs of mom and baby. Filled with essential care items such as:
* Sleepers & Clothing
* Towels & Washcloths
* Baby Wash, Shampoo, Powder, Diaper Ointment and Lotions
* Blankets
* Diapers & Wipes
* Bottles, Bibs and Burp Cloths
* Maxi Pads & Sanitary Liners
* Bra Pads
* Bath & Body Care Items
* Pain Relief Medicine

Asking for help takes a lot of courage, and we are here for you. Many women reach out to us for help but unfortunately not everyone will qualify for our programs. In order to be eligible for our programs, an individual must be a homeless woman and have custody of at least one child or is at least 4 months pregnant. You must also request a referral from your case manager.
